Produced by Franco Migliacci, with “Il giocattolo” (The Toy) Gianni Morandi once again reached the top of the charts. His career saw him on that podium at least ten times, almost a record.
A great acoustic guitar rif precedes Gianni’s interpretation that became more and more perfect in his singing, losing the Bolognese pronunciation. A curiosity: this tune is rarely sung in concerts, as Morandi himself acknowledges.
“Il giocattolo” talks about love as a game that comes and goes and is part of the soundtrack of the film “Chimera”, the first color film interpreted by Gianni with his ex-wife Laura Efrikian and is contained in the album “Gianni 5” of 1968.
