Four cases of gold, the fruit of an assault on the bank of El Paso by the bandit Carranza, are stolen by an Indian, Copper Face, jealous of the relationship between his wife Maria and the bandit. In addition to Carranza and his gang, two adventurers, Johnny and Owl, immediately set out on the Indian’s trail. Luck seems to favour the two adventurers, who are the first to track down Copper Face and get their hands on the treasure; however, Carranza’s arrival forces them to leave the chests of gold in the hands of the bandits. Instead of surrendering in the face of the outlaws’ numerical superiority, Johnny and Owl put a diabolical plan into action that allows them to annihilate the bandits and recover the gold. At this point, Owl, instead of keeping to the bargain and dividing the proceeds of the enterprise with Johnny, walks off with the four crates and hands them over to the sheriff of El Paso, thus obtaining the rehabilitation of his own brother, unjustly accused of complicity in the robbery. Johnny arrives in El Paso determined to avenge the hoax played on him by Owl, but he willingly renounces his action when the latter voluntarily hands over to him ten thousand dollars received from the bank as a reward for recovering the gold.
