At the tragic date of the Second World War, Fascism arrives anything but united: Mussolini faces a sort of ‘internal opposition’ to the regime, headed by Galeazzo Ciano (Massimo Ghini), Giuseppe Bottai (Pietro Biondi) and Dino Grandi (Paolo Graziosi).
Theatre-investigation rather than fiction. Giraldi – with the support of Massimo Felisatti for the screenplay and Renzo De Felice for the historical consultancy – points out that this is not a ‘fictional’ reality, but a careful and rigorous reconstruction of the historical facts: the contribution of diaries, documents and letters of the time was fundamental.
