Miraltango – Rossini Philharmonic Choir

As part of the 30 Years in Choir Festival, the evening will feature a wide selection of tangos by some of the leading composers who have shaped the history of this genre, including Julio De Carlo, Alfredo Mazzeo, Julián Plaza, Osvaldo Bellinghieri and Astor Piazzolla. Part of the concert will be dedicated to Luis Bacalov’s Misa Tango, a work that blends different musical genres and combines the language of sacred music with the folk traditions of the River Plate region, including tangos, milongas and candombi.

The performers for the evening will be Daniel Pacitti on the bandoneón, Cristina Ratti on the piano, Giacomo Sebastianelli, Matteo Fratesi and Marco Roveti on percussion, Jimena Llanos (mezzo-soprano), Jorge Carlos Tello (baritone), and Deborah Mazza and Alan Spotti (dancers). The programme will be presented by Maria Chiara Mazzi, with So Hyun Lee as piano accompanist. The star of the evening will be the Coro Filarmonico Rossini, conducted by Federico Raffaelli.
