Concert in honour of Pope Leo XIV

Saturday 18 July, at 9.00 pm, in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace at Castel Gandolfo

The programme for the event opens with a performance of Niccolò Paganini’s *La Polacca*, from his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 3 in E major, performed by the master violinist Marco Rogliano, an internationally renowned artist who graduated with honours from the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome and has won several national and international awards. This will be followed by a performance on the piano by the internationally renowned pianist Rossana Tomassi Golkar, who graduated with top honours from the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome. She will perform *Norma, an immense love story: Free Fantasy and Variations for Piano and Orchestra*, a reworking of Vincenzo Bellini’s masterpiece, written exclusively for her by Oscar-winning composer Luis Bacalov.

 

 

The Little Prince

‘The Little Prince’, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless masterpiece, in a version adapted by Vanessa Gravina (narrator), accompanied on the piano by Corrado De Bernart. Through this new translation and adaptation, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s work will be brought to life in an engaging musical narrative interwoven with music by Luis Bacalov, Michael Nyman, Philip Glass and Erik Satie. A project that combines literature, theatre and music in a poetic journey capable of speaking to audiences of all ages.
