The Roma Sinfonietta orchestra presents VIVALDI and BACALOV

Saturday 16 July, at 9.00 pm, Arena Palma, Trevignano

The concert programme is divided equally between two composers who appear to have very little in common, but who complement each other perfectly, thanks to the fact that they are both great composers and that their music exerts an irresistible charm on today’s listeners.
The first part is dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
The second part is dedicated to three pieces by Luis Bacalov. The first piece is taken from the soundtrack of Michael Radford’s film
*Il postino*, for which the Italian-Argentine composer won the Oscar for Best Original Score in 1996. This is followed by *Seduccion* and, finally, the *Concerto grosso* for violin, harpsichord and strings, almost a modern response to Vivaldi’s 18th-century *Concerto grosso*.
Joining the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra are two of Italy’s finest musicians: Vincenzo Bolognese on violin and Luca Pincini on cello.
The concert is organised by Trevignano Proms, Roma Sinfonietta and Arena Palma as part of the Trevignano Summer Fest
