A comedy in four episodes about the male universe, as seen by Lina Wertmüller,
In the first episode, “A Man of Honour”, an industrialist in financial crisis urges his wife to steal in order to get him the money he needs; in “The Knife Thrower”, a circus performer who has beaten his partner to death despairs of the difficulties of replacing her; while in “A Good Man”, a farmer spends his days despising his wife, who supports him. It ends with ‘A Superior Man’ in which a wife, exasperated by her husband’s attitude of superiority, kills him.
