Chapaqua’s Gold

(L'oro dei Bravados)

Director Giancarlo Romitelli

1970

Doc and Chapagua, two adventurers, manage to seize one hundred thousand dollars in gold bullion by cleverly stealing it from a gang of outlaws. During their escape, the two companions are forced to dispose of the gold, which they hide in a safe place, vowing to return as soon as possible to get it back. Meanwhile, the War of Secession breaks out and Doc and Chapagua find themselves unable to return to the site of the treasure. Once the war is over, they rush off in search of the gold, each intending to appropriate the other’s share as well. The treasure hunt is joined by a beautiful adventuress, Moira, and an army officer, Garret, who, on the basis of the information in their possession, manage to get ahead of Doc and Chapagua. Since Garret appears determined to keep the gold bars for himself, Moira does not hesitate to kill him. Reached by Doc and Chapagua, she is forced to accept their collaboration in order to escape the onslaught of the ever-increasing number of aspirants for possession of the gold. Together with them, she finally reaches the Mexican border.
