It is one of Gianni Morandi’s love songs, perhaps one of the most remembered. It was a great success thanks to the choice of the instrument, rather unusual.
Of this song he also recorded a version in Spanish and in French. It was also part of the soundtrack of the movie he interpreted entitled “Mi vedrai tornare” (You’ll see me coming back) that was to be the main side of the 45 rpm record.
After the criticism of “disengagement” due to the climate of the time, Morandi later interpreted “There was a boy who, like me, loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones”.
Like almost all of Morandi’s songs from the mid-60s, it reached No. 1 on the weekly chart.
