It is the story of Billy and Nina. It is the story of Viviane. In a town in the south of France, Hyères or Toulon.
Billy works on a building site by the sea. He’s been seeing Nina for six months. They get along well, so why wait? They get married. They have a wedding. In the evening, Billy takes the guests home. On the way back, the lift broke down, so he took the stairs back to his flat. The building was new, not yet finished. Billy had the wrong floor. That is how he meets Viviane and from the moment he sees her he knows he loves her.
Billy is a simple man; he has never been given a choice, life has always decided for him. He married not to be alone, that much was clear, there was no need to ask questions. Now everything has changed. It is as if the world has exploded into a thousand worlds, as if the smallest of his thoughts have become serious and strong.
It is as if every step is worth thinking about.
